Convenient location with a short stroll to the River Thames, which could be pleasant for leisure walks. The hotel maintains a certain charm that harkens back to previous visits—somewhere that feels familiar, if not entirely polished.

Check-in is a hassle since no one's at the reception, and you have to call in for assistance. this leads to an awkward wait and uncertainty. Stair access to the rooms is a bit of a trek, and for anyone not spry, lugging luggage up and down multiple flights doesn’t exactly scream comfort. The showers leave much to be desired—essentially unusable due to missing seals and a lack of bath mats making for a slippery exit. Plus, the windows barely open, limiting airflow on warmer days. The decor and facilities seem stuck in a different era, and some amenities feel dated or worn out, making it hard to shake off the sense of decline. it could really benefit from a thoughtful refresh.

The check-in process was frustrating due to unhelpful staff!!! There were plumbing issues in the room and some basic maintenance clearly neglected regarding the windows and doors!!!

The hotel had great potential, and the warm staff made the stay pleasant. the shower pressure was disappointing, and there were quirks like the bathroom door not closing properly. Breakfast was also a letdown with odd substitutes. Would consider returning for another shot at it.

Had an awesome time with friends at this lovely spot. We visited the nearby riverside and enjoyed great meals in town. Breakfast was a highlight, especially the poached eggs, and the staff were super friendly. The outdoor courtyard is perfect for an evening drink with its heated parasols!

The only downside was that I couldn't find the electric car charging station easily. It was hidden behind some stuff, which made it a bit frustrating.

This place was an excellent fit for a weekend escape in Wallingford with fantastic value. The staff treated us like royalty, especially Ellie at breakfast who made sure we were comfortable with our small dog. Make sure to enjoy the dinner. it's worth it!
